Memorandum of Cooperation Agreement between the Sports Sciences Research Institute and the Islamic World Science and Technology Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC)

According to the Public Relations office of the Student Affairs Organization, quoting the Sports Sciences Research Institute, this memorandum of understanding—with the aim of synergizing existing capacities, optimal utilization of the resources and facilities of both parties, strengthening international collaboration, and laying the groundwork for the advancement of the country’s scientific and technological level—was signed by Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, acting head of the Research Institute, and Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Alavian-Mehr, president of the ISC Institute, in the presence of Dr. Dehghani (President of Shiraz University of Technology), Dr. Qanbari Baghestan (Deputy for Scholarships and Foreign Students of the Student Affairs Organization), Dr. Elhiyar Torkaman (Deputy for Higher Education and Research of the National Planning and Budget Organization), and the deputies of the Research Institute.
This cooperation is taking place as the Sports Sciences Research Institute, as the country’s leading specialized body in physical education and sports sciences, has, thanks to its outstanding and strategic performance, achieved first place in the 2022–2023 ISC ranking among research institutes in the humanities, social sciences, and arts—a prestigious and honorable position that highlights the institute’s strategic role in the national science and technology landscape, especially in sports sciences.
Key points of this memorandum include:
Establishing a framework for shared cooperation and mutual utilization of information resources, as well as existing research, study, and specialized opportunities;
Indexing the scientific outputs and statistics of the Institute’s researchers in ISC databases;
Collaboration in implementing joint research projects, and supporting the publication and processing of the institute’s books and journals;
The institute’s access to ISC’s specialized platforms such as “Dana,” “Saramadan,” “The System of Ideas and Needs (NAN),” and the conference registration portal;
Cooperation in organizing joint scientific events and creating suitable opportunities for study leaves for faculty members and students;
Shared use of resources, scientific databases, and facilities based on current regulations;
Utilization of new technologies including artificial intelligence, data processing, and large-scale computing in delivering specialized services.
This memorandum is considered an effective step towards strengthening the scientific and research standing of the Institute at the national and international level, and will pave the way for broad and impactful collaborations in the future.
