With the Aim of Enhancing Scientific and Practical Capabilities in Sport Sciences: Specialized Assistant Courses of “Sports Laboratory” Held by the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education

The Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology will hold specialized assistant courses in “Sports Laboratory” during Mordad and Shahrivar 1404 (August and September 2025) to enhance scientific and practical skills in various sport science disciplines.
According to the Public Relations office of the Institute, these specialized courses introduce methods and measurement tools in the field of sport sciences, titled “Specialized Assistant Courses of the Laboratory of the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education (SSRI-Lab Course).” They aim to upgrade scientific and practical capabilities across different sport science branches through the following specialized laboratory assistantship courses conducted as practical, in-person sessions at the Institute’s laboratory premises:
Assistant Course of the Laboratory of “Corrective Movements and Sports Pathology”
Dates: 30 and 31 Mordad (August 21-22, 2025)
Topics include:
Motion analysis and force plate
Electromyography
Isokinetics
Functional and diagnostic musculoskeletal tests
Gait assessment
Spinal mouse and posture evaluation
Balance assessment and Biodex balance system
Assistant Course of the Laboratory of “Psychological Aspects in Sport: Evaluation and Intervention with Neurophysiological Tools”
Dates: 6 and 7 Shahrivar (August 28-29, 2025)
General objectives:
Familiarity with mental health assessment tools for athletes
Practical training in QEEG recording and SMHAT-1 implementation
Empowerment for designing brain- and psychological data-based interventions
Mastery of neurofeedback, biofeedback, and tDCS technologies in sports
Course content and topics:
Foundations of neuropsychometrics in sport
Assessment with SMHAT-1
Introduction to QEEG
Practical QEEG recording
Neurofeedback interventions
Biofeedback interventions
tDCS brain stimulation
Integration of results and intervention design
Assistant Course of the Laboratory of “Sport Physiology”
Dates: 13 and 14 Shahrivar (September 3-4, 2025)
Topics include:
Familiarization with gas analyzer and spirometry devices
Electrocardiogram (ECG), cardio screening, and blood pressure
Familiarity with Wingate ergometer and RAST test
Isokinetic device and strength evaluation
Electromyography (EMG)
Anthropometry and body composition assessment
Assistant Course of the Laboratory of “Motor Behavior and Sport Psychology”
Dates: 27 and 28 Shahrivar (September 17-18, 2025)
Topics include:
Fundamentals of Biodex balance system
Data analysis of Biodex balance system and field balance tests
Basics of electromyography
EMG data analysis
Fundamentals of electroencephalography and biofeedback
EEG and biofeedback data analysis
Basics of gait analysis system
Gait system data analysis

At the end of each course, all participants will receive a valid certificate of completion awarded by the Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
