Approval of Dr. Fariba Mohammadi as Head of the SSRII by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution

The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution announced the approval of the presidents of 11 universities and research institutes across Iran during the recent meeting of the committee responsible for vetting university leadership.

According to the Public Relations office of the Ministry of Science and citing the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Hojatoleslam wal-Muslimeen Abdolhossein Khosrowpanah, Secretary of the Council and Chairman of the Committee for Confirming University Presidents, stated that the session was held on Sunday, July 26, 2025 (5 Mordad 1404), at the Council’s Secretariat. During the meeting, the academic, research, educational, and managerial qualifications of the proposed university presidents were thoroughly reviewed.

The following appointments were approved:

Dr. Mohammad Hassan Zadeh Mahmoudabad as President of Mohaghegh Ardabili University

Dr. Alireza Afsharifar as President of Shiraz University

Dr. Hamid Taheri as President of Imam Khomeini International University, Qazvin

Dr. Adel Si-o-se Mordeh as President of Kurdistan University

Dr. Mahmoud Paripour as President of Hamedan University of Technology

Dr. Ebrahim Salehi Omran as President of Mazandaran University

Dr. Mahmoud Reza Zad Bari as President of Urmia University

Dr. Mahmoud Mehrdad Shokriyeh as President of Iran University of Science and Technology

Dr. Hassan Sarikhani as President of the International University of the D8 Group

Dr. Fariba Mohammadi as President of the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Additionally, in a previous committee meeting, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid was approved as President of Tehran University.
