Sport is No Longer Just a Personal Skill; The Career Future of Physical Education is Bright

Dr. Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister and Head of the Student Affairs Organization, addressed candidates of the Sports Sciences entrance exam, congratulating them on their choice and stressing that:
"Today, sport is no longer merely a personal activity or an individual skill; with advances in technology and the arrival of artificial intelligence, it has become a knowledge-based, technology-driven, and future-oriented field."
He highlighted that successful sporting nations are those leveraging modern technologies to enhance athlete performance, conduct data analysis, and apply scientific training methods. Iran, he noted, is moving on a similar path through the development of scientific infrastructure, specialized research centers such as the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and the expansion of faculty programs in this field.
Dr. Habiba pointed out the distinct admission process for this field: unlike many disciplines that require only a theoretical exam, Sports Sciences applicants are assessed in two stages — a theoretical test and a physical fitness test, reflecting the program’s holistic approach to evaluating candidates’ abilities.
He stated that today, physical education faculties in many universities across the country benefit from capable professors, effective research programs, and the training of skilled specialists. This progress has transformed Physical Education from a relatively overlooked field in the past into one of the most promising and high-potential university programs.
Emphasizing the importance of scientific sports education from elementary school through university, Dr. Habiba said that the country needs modern, applied, and research-driven sports instruction at all education levels in order to see tangible results both nationally and internationally.
In conclusion, he expressed his pleasure at meeting the candidates in person and encouraged them:
"I am happy to be here with you today and I hope your path is full of success. I am confident that by making the most of both theoretical and practical training, you can play an influential and inspiring role in expanding both mass and elite sports."
