With the Presence of the Deputy Minister and Head of the Student Affairs Organization: Nationwide Sports Sciences Practical Exam Opens Simultaneously in 26 Centers

The 2025 nationwide Sports Sciences practical entrance exam officially began on Thursday, August 7, 2025 (16 Mordad 1404), starting with the tests for male candidates. This year, over 20,000 male and female candidates will participate in the exam, held in 26 selected test centers across the country.

According to the Government Information Portal, the opening ceremony for the male candidates, held at the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Health, University of Tehran, featured a special traditional sport performance (“Pahlevani & Zoorkhaneh”) and was attended by:

Dr. Saeed Habiba, Deputy Minister and President of the Student Affairs Organization

Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Dr. Anoushirvan Ola, Director General for Examination Coordination, National Organization for Educational Testing

Dr. Khoshghalb, Head of the Presidency Office & Public Relations, Student Affairs Organization

Dr. Hamed Abbasi, Research Deputy & Executive Director of the Exam

Dr. Rahman Soori, Dean, Faculty of Sports Sciences and Health, University of Tehran

A Major National Event
This large-scale event is being implemented with collaboration from universities nationwide and the participation of more than 3,000 trained professionals, including academic staff, professors, students, and graduates of Sports Sciences, serving as exam officials and referees.

Monitoring and Fairness:
A total of 52 official observers from the Ministry of Science’s Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, along with representatives from the National Assessment and Testing Organization, are stationed full-time across all venues (for both male and female candidates).

The “Seven Challenges” Practical Test
The exam consists of seven stages:

Inverted Pull-up Hold (20 seconds)

Football and Basketball Dribble

Sit-ups (30 seconds)

Two-footed Hurdle Jump

4×9 m Shuttle Run

Medicine Ball Throw

250 m Run (men) / 150 m Run (women)

Before participating in the practical tests, all candidates undergo physical screening, health checks, and medical evaluations.

Schedule
Men: Thursday, 16 Mordad (Aug 7, 2025)

Women: Friday, 17 Mordad (Aug 8, 2025), with additional sessions in Tehran, Mashhad, and Shiraz until 18 Mordad (Aug 9, 2025)

Morning sessions: 06:00–12:00
Afternoon sessions: 13:00–16:00
