Specialized Seminar “From Sacrifice to Glory” Held at the SSRI

 

The ssri organized a seminar aimed at explaining the scientific, cultural, and historical significance of the Paralympic movement in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the Public Relations Office of , the seminar, titled “From Sacrifice to Glory: The Path of Formation and Flourishing of the Paralympic Movement in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” was held this afternoon (Wednesday, October 15th) concurrently with National Paralympic Week at the Institute’s headquarters.

The session was held to explore the scientific, cultural, and historical foundations of the Paralympic movement and to review its growth and achievements in the country, with the attendance of numerous officials, academics, coaches, and supporters of sports for veterans and persons with disabilities.

Speakers included Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport Sciences; Dr. Hamid Ali Samimi, Secretary-General of the National Paralympic Committee; Dr. Jalil Kouhpaye Zadeh, President of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation; and Ms. Zahra Nemati, head coach of the national para archery team (joining online). Several university faculty members, researchers, and practitioners in the field of parasport also participated in the event.

Various sessions of the seminar examined the formation and development of the Paralympic movement in Iran, its significant national and international achievements, and the active role of universities and scientific institutions in promoting the culture of sports for veterans and persons with disabilities.

Participants also emphasized the importance of strengthening the connection between research and practice in the field of Paralympic sports and raising public awareness about the humanistic and cultural values embodied in this movement.
