Khwarazmi University selected to host the 3rd International Conference on Zurkhaneh Sports, Pahlavani Wrestling, and Morshedi Ar

According to the Public Relations of the SSRI, quoting the Zurkhaneh and Pahlavani Wrestling Federation, Dr. Hossein Zareian, Secretary-General of the 3rd International Conference on Zurkhaneh Sports, Pahlavani Wrestling, and Morshedi Art, stated that this conference is being organized by the Zurkhaneh Sports and Pahlavani Wrestling Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with Khwarazmi University and the Sport Sciences Research Institute of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, and will be held on 15 February 2026 (26 Bahman 1404) at Khwarazmi University with the presence of veteran figures, experts, and leading national and international scholars in this field.

Dr. Zareian explained that this event aims to promote and expand the tradition of Zurkhaneh sports and Pahlavani wrestling as symbols of Iran’s national and ritual sports, and to enhance international scientific interaction. It invites specialized papers focused on Zurkhaneh sports and Pahlavani wrestling in areas such as management and policy development, performance enhancement in elite sport, injury prevention and corrective exercise, physiological aspects, biomechanical aspects, motor behavior, psychological and sociological aspects, and marketing and commercialization, thereby creating a platform for experts and the academic community to discuss current challenges and issues in this sport
