Evaluation of the Performance Assessment of the National Youth Wheelchair Basketball Teams IRISFD at the Specialized Laboratories of SSRC

Athletes of the national youth wheelchair basketball teams, both girls and boys, underwent comprehensive functional performance evaluations at the specialized laboratories of the Sports Sciences Research Institute with the aim of enhancing physical performance and optimizing training programs.

According to the Public Relations office of the Sports Sciences Research Institute, specialized performance assessment tests were conducted in cooperation with Dr. Mahsa Ofoqi, Director of the Assessment and Training Center of the Veterans and Disabled Sports Federation, the national team coaching staff, under the supervision of Dr. Hamed Abbasi, specialist in corrective movements, and a professional research team including Dr. Mohammad Shariat-Zadeh, Dr. Mehdi Bayati, and Dr. Samira Gholamian, experts in exercise science and sports physiology, as well as Dr. Mohammadreza Seyedi, Ms. Donya Rezaei, Mahla Arman, and Niloufar Kazeminazhad, specialists in corrective movements and sports for individuals with disabilities.

This specialized evaluation aimed at monitoring physical condition, enhancing athletic capabilities, and designing targeted training programs, assessed national athletes in various domains including aerobic capacity, strength, muscular endurance, agility, flexibility, and body composition.

This interdisciplinary collaboration, conducted within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the Research Institute and the Federation, represents a significant step toward the development of knowledge-based elite sports and scientific support for athletes with disabilities, contributing to the advancement of the national wheelchair basketball team’s performance.
