Members Elected to Specialized Higher Education Planning Committees Announced

 

A total of **344 faculty members** have been elected to serve in specialized higher education planning committees, following a nationwide online election held from January 4–7, 2025, in which **15,106 faculty members** cast their votes.  

The election results were announced by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, with selected members to join **51 specialized committees** and **8 interdisciplinary committees**.  

### **Committee Structure**  
In addition to elected faculty members, each committee will also include:  
- Representatives from relevant industries and communities  
- A curriculum planning specialist  
- A representative from the related scientific association  
- Experts with prior experience in curriculum development  

Each committee will consist of **9 to 15 members**.  

### **Sport Sciences Committee**  
In the field of **Sport Sciences**, nearly **600 faculty members** participated in the election, with **7 individuals** elected from among **140 candidates** representing universities under the Ministry of Science, Islamic Azad University, Payame Noor University, and non-profit educational centers:  

1. **Dr. Alireza Elahi** (Sports Management) – Kharazmi University, Tehran – **91 votes**  
2. **Dr. Abbasali Gaeini** (Exercise Physiology) – University of Tehran – **88 votes**  
3. **Dr. Hamid Agha Alinejad** (Exercise Physiology) – Tarbiat Modares University – **84 votes**  
4. **Dr. Habib Henry** (Sports Management) – Allameh Tabataba'i University – **83 votes**  
5. **Dr. Ali Kashi** (Motor Behavior) – Physical Education and Sports Science Research Institute – **72 votes**  
6. **Dr. Hassan Daneshmandi** (Sports Injury and Corrective Exercise) – University of Guilan – **71 votes**  
7. **Dr. Saeid Sadeghi Boroujerdi** (Sports Management) – University of Science and Culture – **64 votes**  

These committees will play a key role in shaping the future direction of higher education curricula and research priorities in their respective fields.
