New Book: "Advanced Physiology of the Motor Nervous System" Published
Tehran – A new academic volume titled "Advanced Physiology of the Motor Nervous System" has been published and released to the market by the Publications Center of the Sports Science Research Institute.
Authored by a team of specialists, including Dr. Mohammad Reza Seyyedi, a faculty member of the Sports Science Research Institute, Dr. Yusef Moghaddas Tabrizi, a faculty member of the University of Tehran, Mostafa Jalili Befrouei, Hesamuddin Mohammadi Delband, and Mahdi Alizadeh Ebrahimi, the book is presented in a "royal octavo" format. It comprises 10 illustrated chapters across 290 pages.
In the book's introduction, the authors emphasize the critical importance of their subject: "In today's world, a correct and profound understanding of the nervous system's role in controlling bodily movements has become indispensable, particularly for sports science professionals and graduate students. The nervous system, with its delicate and complex coordination, forms the very foundation of all our voluntary and involuntary movements."
They further assert that understanding this complex system is not only key to enhancing athletic performance but also a primary tool in preventing, diagnosing, and treating motor deficits and injuries.
Highlighting the essential link between theory and practice, the authors note: "The dynamic connection between theoretical knowledge and its practical application in sports is the cornerstone of training professional experts and coaches. Theoretical knowledge that is not translated into the realm of practical action and athletic training cannot lead to the growth and improvement of athletes' motor skills."
Accordingly, this book adopts an integrated approach, striving to present the advanced principles of motor nervous system physiology in a scientific yet application-oriented manner, specifically tailored for students in sports science disciplines.
The book is priced at 600,000 Tomans and is now available to interested readers through Padina Publications, the co-publisher with the Sports Science Research Institute.
