"Institute of Physical Education; Pioneer of the Knowledge‑Based Economy and the Connecting Link between Innovation and the Sports Market"

According to the Public Relations Department of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, speaking to reporters on the occasion of this meeting during the blessed month of Sha'ban and on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, expressed hope that this event, blessed by these days, would mark the beginning of a serious transformation in the development of technology and the knowledge‑based economy in Iranian sports.

At the outset of her remarks, she thanked the media for their presence and support, describing the role of the media in shaping and sustaining the discourse of a knowledge‑based economy in sports as unique and strategic.

The President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport Sciences also acknowledged the cooperation of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, sports federations, the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, the Sports Organization of the Municipality, the Iran Sports Industry Association, the Tehran Province Clubs Association, the Corporate Sports Association, and especially the Federation of Veterans and Disabled Persons' Sports in holding this event.

Dr. Mohammadi noted the emergence of the discourse on sports technologies in recent years and stated: "As the representative of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Institute has sought to play its role as the connecting link between industry and academia in the development of sports technologies. In this regard, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Sports and Youth so that the scientific development of sports technologies can be pursued through universities."

She added: "About seven years ago, the Institute launched the first specialized innovation center in the field of sports technologies. By planning training courses, organizing specialized events, and supporting active startups and accelerators, it has tried to contribute to the development of practical products in the sports arena."

The head of the event, referring to the goals of holding "From Idea to Business in Sport," said: "This event has been organized to connect the executive sports sector of the country with the science and technology parks of the Ministry of Science. Along this path, the technological needs of sports federations were collected in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee and transmitted to science and technology parks across the country, so that activists and investors in this field could plan based on the real needs of the country's sports."

According to Dr. Mohammadi, about 93 ideas were received in response to the event's call. Previously, the "Technology Sports Olympiad" had been held at Amirkabir University of Technology with the participation of students and faculty members interested in the field of sports technologies.

She emphasized: "In this edition, in addition to presenting ideas, we have tried to invite owners of ready‑made products as well. Alongside the presentations, an exhibition of products from active players in the field of sports technologies in the country will be held, so that these products can be introduced to managers, federation heads, and specialists in the executive sports sector."

The President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport Sciences concluded: "The goal of this Institute in the sports technology ecosystem is to introduce specialists, human resources, existing products, and to categorize the technological needs of the country's sports, so that through targeted planning and support, the grounds for further growth and development of the country's sports can be provided."
