With President of Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Attendance; Champion of National Women's Student 3x3 Basketball Tournament Determined

The closing and medal ceremony of the National Women's Student 3x3 Basketball Championships, featuring universities from across the country, was held at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad with the presence of Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and a group of higher education officials.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Office of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the National Women's Student 3x3 Basketball Championships, hosted by Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, concluded on the afternoon of May 13 (23 Ordibehesht 1405) with the identification of the top teams. The closing ceremony of the competition was attended by Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

In this edition of the competition, featuring teams from across the country, Payam Noor University of Tehran secured the championship with a powerful performance. According to tournament officials, this team will be sent to the 2026 Asian Championships in China in July as the representative of Iranian university sports. Additionally, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad finished as runner-up, and the University of Tehran secured third place.

Attendance of Officials and Honoring of a Professor

The closing ceremony was attended by prominent scientific and sports figures, including Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, Dr. Hajjabbari (Student Affairs Deputy of Shahid Beheshti University), Dr. Pourkiyani (Head of Physical Education at Shahid Beheshti University), Dr. Hossein Kareshki (Student Affairs Deputy of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad), Dr. Hamidreza Taheri (Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences), Dr. Masoudi, Dr. Seyed Alireza Hosseini Kakhk, Dr. Fakhar, and a group of faculty members.

During a segment of the ceremony, with Dr. Fazli (spouse of the late Dr. Mohammad Reza Boroumand) in attendance, the memory of the late professor was honored. Student-athletes presented flowers to appreciate Dr. Boroumand's valuable services in the field of university sports.

Presentation of Trophies and Individual Awards

At the end of the ceremony, in addition to presenting trophies to the first, second, and third-place teams, the Fair Play Trophy was awarded to Shahid Beheshti University. The title of the highest-scoring athlete of the competition went to Maryam Karim Sarmadi from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology.

The sporting event concluded with the signing of a commemorative plaque by Dr. Fariba Mohammadi and other guests, along with a fireworks display in honor of Payam Noor University of Tehran's championship.
