Strengthening Cultural and Social Dimensions of Sport; Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Institute of Physical Education and Cultural Studies Association

 

With the aim of developing interdisciplinary interactions and utilizing scientific capacities in the promotion of philanthropy culture and collective good in sport, the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences has signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the Iranian Association for Cultural and Communication Studies.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Office of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, a meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Dr. Ali Rabiei, President of the Iranian Association for Cultural and Communication Studies, to expand scientific, research, and educational cooperation. During the meeting, the necessity of linking the capacities of sports sciences and cultural studies was emphasized.

In this regard, the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, relying on its governance and specialized position in the field of sport, has committed to providing a suitable platform for implementing joint national projects by identifying the research, social, and technological needs of the country's institutions. According to this MoU, the Institute, alongside the Cultural Studies Association, will collaborate in areas such as joint scientific publications, holding specialized conferences and seminars, and establishing scientific-specialized groups focusing on cultural and social studies of sport.

Dr. Fariba Mohammadi, President of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, on the sidelines of the ceremony, emphasized the importance of 'collective good' in the field of sport and stated that the Institute is ready to share its workshop capacities, international connections, and capabilities in publishing scientific articles to enhance multimedia content and support innovations and startups in this field.

Other key areas of this collaboration, to be pursued with the Institute as the focal point, include holding joint training courses and workshops, exchanging knowledge and scientific products, and creating a suitable platform for producing specialized content (podcasts, motion graphics, and videos), which will significantly contribute to the development of cultural infrastructure in the country's sports community.

It is worth noting that this MoU, signed for a duration of two years, represents an effective step toward synergy between sports sciences elites and cultural studies specialists to solve social challenges and strengthen professional ethics in sports environments.
